Essay About Yourself - Write It and Share It

Essay About Yourself - Write It and Share ItYou know the old saying, you can't please everyone, so why write an essay about myself? However, writing an essay about myself is often perceived as a kind of self-pity, an attempt to apologize for having things I do not deserve.Essays are not really written about us. That is the whole point. We want our own thoughts, ideas and judgments to shine through, but often we can't find the words to express those things, or that are too personal.Since so many people have shared their stories with me throughout my life, many times I have been asked to write on something about myself, to share my own thoughts and feelings about a certain issue. Often, when I do choose to write an essay about myself, I am reminded of my life's experiences and have a little trouble writing. However, writing about myself does not have to be a painful experience. In fact, if you ask someone to read your essay, it can allow you to share your own thoughts, and observations. It is likely you will not be happy with the writing you have done; thus, even after you read it, you can improve it. The most important thing is to write honestly, and without editing. Instead of worrying about how you look or where your ideas should fall, just try to share your own thoughts and opinions. We all have an opinion about everything. We may not always express them, but each of us has an opinion, and you should express it. When you write about yourself, you are giving voice to a part of yourself that has been forgotten or not heard. In a way, that is kind of a gift, because you were able to bring to light a part of yourself that was previously hidden. When writing an essay about myself, the best way to share your opinions is to speak from the heart. The feelings and thoughts that make up a personal essay, are no different than the ones you would express in your everyday conversations. The secret is not necessarily the writing style, or the grammar, but rather in sharing ho w you feel and where you are coming from. Speak from the heart, and try to make sense of your thoughts about yourself. You do not have to be afraid to tell someone your own thoughts and ideas. By writing about yourself, you are opening up a way for you to speak your truth and share it, without being judged or embarrassed.Writing an essay about myself can be a liberating experience, and you should be prepared to have the piece read by others. Sharing your thoughts and feelings is not necessarily an uncomfortable process, and the only person you should be worried about is yourself.
